THE PHONE

Available in two colors ( Moonlight Silver and Space Gray), Vernee Apollo Lite comes with a large 5.5 inchs FHD IPS 401ppi display protected by a Gorilla Glass 3 touch panel.
The dimensions of the device are 152 x 76.2 x 9.2mm and due to the premium metal material of the back it feels heavy (175g) but solid and yet confortable to hold.
It comes with a stock version of Android 6.0 with very few customisation. I've already received many updates that significantly improved the user experience and many more are to come, according to the company promises.

The phone supports dual sim cards working at the same time that can be inserted from the left side of the phone extracting the slot using the included needle. The user can decide to use the phone in single sim mode leaving one slot available to expand the 32 GB internal memory using a micro SD card (up to 128 GB).
The phone supports LTE 800/1800/2100/2600MHz.

On the bottom we can find the speaker, the USB type-C connector supporting digital audio output allowing the user not to lose quality, listening his favourite music.
Unlike the newest iPhone Vernee decided not to dismiss the fashioned headphones jack that can still be found on the top of the phone.

The right side of the phone houses the power on/off switch and the audio controls.

On the back there is a precise fingerprint recognition sensor that allows you to unlock the phone while sleeping without inserting everytime the password.

PERFORMANCES

Apollo Lite comes with a Deca-core Helio X20 CPU equipped with an ARM Mali-T880 MP4 GPU and 4GB of RAM.
These values allow the phone to run very smoothly and allow the user to run very power absorbing apps like 3D games without any problem.

BATTERY

Despite the hardware on the device, the 3180 mah Li-Po battery acts very well and with a not expensive use of the phone can bring you to the end of the day without any problem. If it was not enough Apollo Lite supports Mediatek Pump Express 3.0 technology that allows the user to charge the device over the 50% in less than half an hour.

CAMERAS

Rear camera 16MP SAMSUNG with PDAF autofocus and Dual color temperature flash
Front camera 5MP
Video 4K 2K@30fps 1080p@60fps

The two cameras work very good in high/middle light conditions but start suffering in the evening. The flash is very powerful but when you reach the 15% of battery charge it cannot be used anymore to spare energy.

CONCLUSIONS

Vernee Apollo Lite proved to be a very interesting device, with a powerful hardware, a good design and a smooth software. It is sold on TOMTOP at the price of about 200€ and compared to his competitors it looks to be the best choice in his price range.
